It’s been a week of interesting initiatives and offers, including Desperate Artwives (an initiative promoting the the talent of mothers who produce art pieces at home while looking after their families) and the generous For Her and For Him, offering free sample sale dresses in exchange of your honest reviews.
Today I want to share with you something else that is really special. By now you should all be familiar with PGP Wedding, Canada-based videographers who have been contributing to Linen & Silk on a regular basis with gracefully shot wedding videos. PGP Wedding contacted us this morning with a campaign video not for themselves, but for a brilliant initiative that a Canadian couple has launched to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Canada.
Make-A-Wish Foundation is an organisation that has been running for over 30 years to grant a wish to children around the world who are suffering with life-threatening medical conditions. Today the Make-A-Wish Foundation has an international representation in more than 36 countries on five continents (http://www.worldwish.org). Needless to say, organisations like these thrive thanks to generous donations and the work of volunteers who willingly donate their time and resources to make a child happy.
The couple in question, Nora and Valentino, have set up a project called Wedding-4-Wishes to raise $1.1m in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation, Canada. They will be getting married on 11th November (11/11/11), and are hoping that people will help their cause by donating just $1 each. Justin Bieber’s father, who happens to be in the bridal party and whose popularity is growing steadily across the pond, is also helping the cause by lending his status, name and time promoting the initiative.
As we all know, organising a wedding takes a lot of time, but to launch this initiative at the same time and set such high goal is truly amazing.
If you are able to donate, please do; equally, if you are able to support the initiative by spreading the voice and leveraging your network and contacts, please do so.
Let us also not forget the Make-A-Wish Foundation United Kingdom, which is in need of support and volunteers to help children in our country see one of their wishes come true.
