Yes, believe it or not, this (above) is by far one of my favourite wedding dresses. It’s modern, sleek, edgy and it looks like it’s incredibly comfortable. I know, you’re probably wondering if I’ve gone mad – after all what’s the point of a wedding dress if it could pass for an ‘every day-ish’ sort of dress? I guess I must be different from most girls. As far as I’m concerned, what makes a woman feel feminine, sensual, or gracious like a princess, is how comfortable she is in her own skin, but also with what she’s wearing. I’ve seen far too many brides spending their wedding day complaining of how much their feet ache, or constantly pulling their strapless dress up, or even struggling to comfortably sit on a chair because of the sheer volume of their dress. Unless that kind of attire is something you’re used to, I really feel that your wedding dress should be the most beautiful, bridal version of the one item of clothing you own that you love wearing and that makes you feel like a million dollars.
This year I’m in love with sleeves – short or long, it doesn’t matter, as long as it’s not strapless. Dresses that cover the shoulders allow for the most intricate creations, with stunning lace, beading that is so beautiful you don’t even need to accessorise, and incredibly understated, ornate backs.
