You can never quite take for granted the level of trust couples put in us to help them plan and deliver calmness and order on the most important day of their lives.

On a wedding day, however, you have to approach the job in a thorough, methodical way, sometimes devoid of emotions so as to not crack under pressure. You won’t believe the amount of times I wished I could just stop and savour the “I do” moment, shed a little tear and congratulate the couple as and when it happens! The truth is, there is no time for that. Nine times out of 10 there will be a call to be made to the driver, someone in the catering team who needs your attention, a table plan to be rechecked, a gift for the bridesmaid to hide, a chat with the DJ about volume, a table cloth to iron, a restroom to be restocked… It is (underline “is” because I mean it) fun – not literally, of course, but it feels like it when you love your job – but intense too.

After a day on your feet, thinking about the 100s of things you need to do, you can’t even begin to imagine the joy and relief when you get at the end of the day and you finally get a quiet one-to-one moment with your couple, share a hug, maybe a little tear too, and you hear words of gratitude.Beach wedding, Elopement, Beach wedding in Sharm el Sheikh, Destination wedding, Wedding planner, Destination wedding planner, Elisabetta White, Linen and Silk Weddings, Red Sea weddings, Sharm el Sheikh wedding, Wedding planner Sharm el Sheikh, Wedding in Egypt, Wedding in Sharm el Sheikh, Sultan Gardens wedding, Wedding venue Sharm el SheikhThis gorgeous bride is Sophia and today she is celebrating her 1st year anniversary with her husband Matt (congratulations lovelies!!!!!). Last year I helped Sophia plan her gorgeous beach wedding in Sharm el Sheikh. The team and I worked incredibly hard for days to make sure everything was perfect for them –  it was exciting and challenging at the same time! We had 42C on that day, and we had to shoot the details at 1pm in the afternoon! Cakes were melting in front of our very own eyes, and just as the altar had to be set up, the wind picked up, making it all incredibly tricky. As you can see from my face, by the end of the day I was physically broken, but SO happy! As Sophia and Matt left the venue, the last words she told me were: “This girl is magic.” And right at that second, none of the challenges mattered. I completely forgot that I was sunburnt, swollen and exhausted, because all that mattered was that this couple felt that their trust had been rewarded.

So, as Matt & Sophia celebrate their first wedding anniversary, I will be thinking of them and all the couples that have allowed me so far to play such a huge part in their wedding with a lot fondness and gratitude. Your trust and love gives me joy and makes being a wedding planner the best job in the world!

xoxo Betta
