Linen and Silk | What’s my style?

Buon giorno lovelies!

It’s a special day here at Linen and Silk HQ, busy with projects, planning changes to the blog and enjoying that sweet feeling you get when you can finally see the fruits of your labour. Today I thought I’d give you a little glimpse into my style – who I am from a fashion point of view, what I like and how I like it!

‘Girl meets Glam’

As you may already know, I’m Italian, from Milan. One thing people mention to me all the times is that people from Milan always seem to wear something black. I’ve never really paid attention to it, as it’s ingrained in my mentality, but looking at my wardrobe, I can confidently say that they’re right – every other dress, jacket or top is black. My work attire, particularly if working at a wedding, going to a client meeting or a glam mixer event, is usually made up of a cute black dress with bold, bright accessories. Coral is the perfect summer colour, and being a brunette, it’s one I love wearing as it makes my complexion warmer. I love chunky necklaces over a simple dress, my favourite being a black ceramic necklace I wore at a wedding on Friday (you can see a picture of me wearing it here). A small Chanel (I don’t own one, but I’m patiently waiting for the day I inherit one!), and a pair of flat sandals (ideally not black) make me feel completely at ease and relaxed.

Meet me during my down-time and you’ll see a different Betta. I’m a cute-dress-and-trainers kind of girl. But again, black + grey + bold colour (preferably yellow!) is my favourite colour combination. Very Milan, I know. I don’t wear a lot of nail varnish, but if my nails were as beautiful as the ones in the picture, matt black nail colour would be my best friend. Trainers make me feel comfortable, safe and confident. I quite honestly feel that a woman doesn’t need to be standing on sky-scraping heels to be sexy – it’s all in your demeanour and confidence. But today you can pick up some amazing high-tops from Ash that will give you the slender legs without having to compromise on comfort. A pair of those is definitely on my wishlist! Big leather bag is a must. I typically carry with me a purse [with make up, pens (lots of pens!), business cards, USB sticks (no, I don’t work for the CIA… I’m just prepared for all eventualities!), paracetamol, toothbrush and toothpaste, and my sawing kit], my Moleskine, my iPad, two phones, a battery charger, tissues, two sets of keys… and more pens! They break my back – quite literally, but as you can imagine, without a large bag I just couldn’t survive! Accessories-wise, I’m a minimalist, always. I tend to only wear my engagement and wedding ring (designed by myself), and sometimes, one bold other ring on the other hand. The antique black diamond ring in the picture is a dream… just like the Chanel bag… A girl can dream, right?!
