Not sure if I should start by apologising for the brightness (sunglasses, anyone?!) but I’ve decided to start the week with something vibrant and a bit alternative. You know I’m a lover of the sea and sunsets (just check my Instagram and you’ll see what my holiday pictures are all about!). During one of my recent trips away, I was sitting at a restaurant on a cliff with hubby, looking at the sea and the desert at sunset, and as any wedding planner would do, I started thinking about what a wedding with those colours (blue & aqua, the colours of the sea and the sky, and orange, the colour of sunsets and the desert) would look like. A few Pins later, and here is the wedding inspiration that resulted from that evening 🙂
One of the things I love about this palette is the way you can use gold tones to complement it and give it a more elegant feel, or if you prefer, a more exotic feel. Just look at that gold inspiration on the bottom left (it’s actually part of a building, but it made me think of those copper trays that you can buy in Arab countries – one of my favourite Arabic craft items that I can’t wait to use on a wedding)! The choice of flowers is obviously immense. You can use ranunculus, tulips or even roses, or if you are going for a more rustic or autumnal look, dry flowers and berries could be a perfect complement. Luckily for us, the selection of colourful glassware with furniture and catering equipment hire companies is quite vast, so if you’d like to really tie in the theme, be bold and go for some aqua or blue wine glasses and vases as in the top left picture.
I know you’re probably wondering why there is no wedding dress… Well, personally, I see this colour scheme for a lovely outdoor or beach wedding, so why not pushing the boundaries a little, embrace the style, and go for a dress with the colours of this theme? If, however, you prefer a more traditional dress, then you can always tie in your theme with coloured accessories like stone earrings or a beaded necklace. And of course, the groom can bring it all together with a navy suit coupled with an orange and/or aqua tie.
