Hello lovelies, hope you had a fabulous weekend! I decided to take it easy as I have a buzzzzy week ahead, so I strategically tried to get as much sleep as I possibly could, so that the dark circles currently sitting under my eyes (they’ve been there for months!) could be obliterated by the good night sleep … last famous words… The only thing that fades them away (sort of) is my concealer and Bobbi Brown mineral foundation!

Since we are talking dark circles and beauty sleep, I thought I’d share with you something that is by no means a new concept, but that I thought it’d be nice bringing up on the blog anyway, as many of you have probably just got engaged (congratulations!) and are starting to think about their beauty regime ahead of their wedding.
You know how I have complained a few times that it is becoming harder and harder to get beauty counters to give you samples…? Well, I went to Italy over Christmas and I was surprised to see how, even when you just buy a perfume, they still load your bag with literally ten or more samples of perfumes, creams, cleansing products etc. I absolutely love the goodie bag you go away with, because all these little samples are not only a way to try new products before you buy them, but they also come in handy when you are travelling and don’t want to bring with you your big bottle of cleanser, or your half a litre of shampoo!
GLOSSYBOX, however, might just be a lovely, relatively-inexpensive solution.
How does it work?
For £10 a month (plus postage and packaging) you can have a GLOSSYBOX containing 5 samples from exclusive brands delivered to your home on a monthly basis. If you review the products you’ve tested, you will also be awarded GLOSSYDots towards a free box. Do you have to commit to a minimum of, let’s say, 12 months? Apparently not. According to GLOSSYBOX, you can cancel your next box subscription at any time within 14 days prior to delivery. So no real commitment. If, however, you want to buy a few boxes in advance, you can choose the £60 (plus p+p) for 6 boxes plan, or £110 (plus p+p) for 12 boxes.
So what do the box contain exactly?
I’ve checked the content of the December 2011 box and the below is an example of the products subscribers have received (remember, they would have only received 5 products out of those listed below):
♥ BLINK+GO Hi-definition mascara
♥ BLINK+GO Eyeshadow and Blush Palette
♥ CARGO Classic Lip Gloss
♥ DEBORAH LIPPMANN Razzle Dazzle Mini Nail Varnish
♥ FAB ESSENTIAL Daily Face Cream
♥ FAB ESSENTIAL Face Cleanser
♥ NOUVEAU Lashes Noir Mascara
♥ RITUALS Shower Gel
♥ MEMEME Seventh Heaven
♥ BIONOVA Impact L2 Eye Wrinkle Treatment
♥ JURLIQUE Purely Age Defying Ultra Firm and Lift Cream
♥ NIP+FAB Shine Fix
♥ NIP+FAB Spot Fix
All the above products are then also featured in GLOSSYBOX Magazine available online. In addition to containing samples, in your box you will also receive product information, tips and tricks about application, beauty and style. If you then decide that you want to buy a product you trialled, you can order it directly from the GLOSSYBOX website. Not bad, eh?
I think I will subscribe, at least to give it a try. How about you? Have you ever subscribed to something similar? Or have you tried GLOSSYBOX yourself? Do you have any feedback or review you can share with our readers?
xx Betta
