There are days when you receive a wedding submission and you are in awe. As I opened the folder I received from Nessa K a few days ago, the only thing that came out of my mouth was: ‘Wow! Che meraviglia!‘… Yes, in Italian. Because, despite the fact that I think in English, beautiful weddings and photography such as this force my emotions out in my mother-tongue. It’s as if the beauty of it all is so deep I don’t know the right English words to express my admiration…
Not only the couple looks incredibly happy and the details are perfect, but the photography is also so beautiful that the only thing you can do is sit back and take it all in. Because I’m not a photographer, I can only compare photographers’ work to the artistic side of me I’m most comfortable with – writing. So if photography were words, then I can honestly say that Nessa has narrated the intricacies of this wedding and the explosion of colour in the most articulate and eloquent way.
A fusion between Indian and Mexican traditions, this wedding graciously merged these two worlds together. Lisa and Jay got married last year in Texas with an outdoor Indian ceremony, followed by a Mexican reception where Lisa changed into her white wedding gown and celebrated with a mariachi band in a beautiful ballroom.
I’m going to leave it to Nessa to take you through Lisa and Jay’s wedding day in the only way that would do it any justice… through her photography.
Nessa, can I say thank you for sharing this incredible day with us? I’m feeling humbled by the fact that you are allowing Linen & Silk to feature this wedding. And, Lisa, Jay, we wish you so much happiness. Continue to smile the way you did throughout this incredible day!
